ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri of has officially commenced activities marking the 14th Annual Thanksgiving of the state with a three-day Solemn Assembly in Yenagoa.
The event, which began on Thursday evening at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall, brought together leaders, dignitaries, and residents of the state for prayers and the breaking of the day’s fast, signaling the start of the spiritual program.
In his remarks, Governor Diri expressed gratitude to Pastor George Izunwa of Gateway International Church, Port Harcourt, for delivering a powerful exhortation on the importance of mercy and forgiveness as commanded by God.
The governor urged Bayelsans to continue to show love, unity, and compassion while praying for sustained peace and development across the state.
He further extended an invitation to residents and friends of Bayelsa to participate actively in the ongoing spiritual exercises, which will culminate in the 2025 Annual Thanksgiving Service scheduled for Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Ecumenical Centre, Igbogene, by 10 a.m.
