By Chris Udochukwu

Abuja (Precise Post) – Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has accused Chief Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee of being responsible for the defeat of the Peoples Democratic Party in the just concluded governorship election in Ondo state.

According to Wike, the NWC failed to unite members of the party in the state ahead of the last Saturday’s election in Ondo.

Wike made the revelation on Friday when he appeared on AIT’s ‘Focus Nigeria’ program anchored by Gbenga Arulegba.

During the interview, Governor Wike said that the magic that won the Edo election was that members of the party, including other aspirants that didn’t secure the party’s ticket were united for a common goal.

However, same cannot be said of Ondo election. There were lots of sabotage by PDP members because of the primaries, members were not united and concessions were not made. This he said was what his research and understanding revealed to him.

Wike said he has always preached unity of party members ahead of election maintained that it saves you a lot of problem.

When asked if the victory of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo state would not be linked to rigging, Wike said before you can even talk about rigging election you should be in unity as a party, adding that you cannot say you are rigged out when your house is not in order.

He recalled that there were thing done by APC in Rivers during election that were unacceptable but did not add up because the party were divided before, during and after election and as such, you cannot talk of victory in such situation.
