ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – President Bola Tinubu haa hinted that that Nigeria’s economic reforms are beginning to yield measurable results, citing improved macroeconomic indicators ahead of the 2026 fiscal year.
Tinubu made the disclosure on Friday while presenting the 2026 budget to the joint session of the federal lawmakers in both senate and House of Representatives.
According to him, “inflation has moderated for eight consecutive months, falling from 24.23 per cent in March 2025 to 14.45 per cent by November.”
The President also announced that Nigeria’s external reserves have climbed to about $47 billion, providing more than ten months of import cover. Economic growth reached 3.98 per cent in the third quarter of 2025, up from 3.86 per cent in the same period a year earlier.
Tinubu acknowledged that reforms had imposed short-term hardship on citizens but insisted the sacrifices were necessary to correct structural weaknesses and restore investor confidence
