Abuja (Precise Post) – Former Nigerian President Dr Goodluck Jonathan has listed what must be done for demoçracy to flourish.
Jonathan, who took to Facebook to disclose this said for democracy to flourish we must improve electoral processes, uphold the rule of law, protect human rights and freedoms and guarantee justice to all citizens, irrespective of gender, tribe and religion.
The former President reminded that Nigerians yearn for equity, fairness, economic progress and enhanced quality of life, which are the promises of democracy.
The statement reads:

Today, Nigeria marks the 22nd year in the 4th Republic, the longest in the history of the nation. As the people observe this landmark, they yearn for equity, fairness, economic progress and enhanced quality of life, which are the promises of democracy.
For democracy to flourish we must improve electoral processes, uphold the rule of law, protect human rights and freedoms and guarantee justice to all citizens, irrespective of gender, tribe and religion.
This is the route we must follow in our quest for an inclusive, peaceful, united and progressive Nigeria.
