ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, on Saturday joined members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his Bende ward, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, for what he described as a peaceful and successful ward congress.
Kalu, who was present as party faithful gathered to elect ward executives, reiterated the importance of unity, discipline and respect for party supremacy as the foundation for a stronger APC in the state.
He stated this when he took to his X handle @OfficialBenKalu on Wednesday in reaction to the ward congress held by the members of the APC.
Earlier in Umuahia, the Deputy Speaker formally received members of the Congress Committee, stressing the need for peaceful consultation and a harmonised process that reflects the collective will of party members.
He maintained that no individual is bigger than the party, noting that decisions of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the party’s Caucus remain binding on all members.
Kalu commended the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and members of the National Working Committee for ensuring compliance with party directives across the state.
According to him, the party’s resolve is to return the APC to the grassroots by strengthening its structures from the ward level upward and ensuring that every stakeholder has a sense of belonging.
The Deputy Speaker also praised the seven-man Local Organising Committee led by Chief Marc Wabara and the Congress Committee Chairman, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Go’ar, for what he described as their firm commitment to a credible, transparent and peaceful exercise.
He congratulated the newly elected ward executives in Bende and across Abia State, expressing confidence in their ability to mobilise support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Reaffirming his commitment to party unity, Kalu declared that the Abia APC belongs to all members, stressing that dialogue, reconciliation and harmonisation would remain central to building a stronger and more united party positioned for greater success in future elections.
