ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – President Bola Tinubu has ordered the reconstitution of the APC Presidential Campaign Council after the initial roaster released on Saturday triggered concerns among party leaders over the exclusion of several senior stakeholders and experienced campaigners.
Sources told THEWILL that Tinubu directed the leadership of the National Assembly, the APC National Working Committee and the presidency with his Chief of Staff as arrowhead, to work together to address the gaps, imbalances and inefficiencies identified in the initial composition.
THEWILL had earlier reported that prominent APC members with significant campaign experience, including Festus Keyamo, Simon Lalong and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, were left out of the initial structure, adding to concerns that the list did not sufficiently reflect the party’s political strength.
The exclusion of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, the highest-ranking political office holder in the Southeast, among other influential APC figures, emerged as a major source of disquiet within the ruling party. Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo was also sidelined.
