Matawalle suspends district head for conferring title on military officer who sells ammunition to Bandits

Abuja (Precise Post) – Governor of , Bello Matawalle has suspended Surajo Namakkah the district head of Badarawa, Shinkafi , for conferring a title on a officer who was arrested for selling ammunition to .

Matawalle who disclosed this in a statement released via his twitter handle account, said that the officer was recently arrested in possession of 20 rounds of 62mm live ammunition.

The suspect he said, was apprehended at the point of handing over the ammunition and had allegedly collected an advance payment of N100,000 from .

The Zamfara Governor also informed that one medical doctor and seven others were arrested for aiding and abetting in the state.

The statement reads:

We suspended Surajo Namakkah the district head of Badarawa, Shinkafi , for conferring a title on a officer who was arrested for selling ammunition to . The military officer was recently arrested in possession of 20 rounds of 62mm live ammunition.

The suspect was at the point of handing over the ammunition when he was apprehended, and had allegedly collected an advance payment of N100,000 from bandits. Also, one medical doctor and seven others were arrested for aiding and abetting in Zamfara.

Precise Post recalls that the governor was said to have done everything possible to bring the activities of bandits in the state to an end including giving to repentant bandits and paying them huge sums of money and buying them Hilux vans.
