Abuja (Precise Post) – Mohammed Umar has stepped in as the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following the reported suspension Ibrahim Magu.
Until his assumption, Umar, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, was the second most senior official at the commission and the Head of Operations at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The News agency of Nigeria said a top official of the commission confirmed that Umar has taken charge of the agency in the absence of Ibrahim Magu.
In operational hierarchy and by convention, the director of operations is next to the chairman.
Precise Post recall that the former EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu is facing Presidential panel over allegations of insubordination and a high-profile lifestyle among others.
