Abuja (Precise Post) – Minister of Labour, Senator Chris Ngige has apologised for the altercation by the junior Minister of state, Festus Keyamo with the Senate.
Ngige who was a senator at the 7th senate recounted the necessity of harmonious relationship between the legislature and the executive for smooth implementation of policies, tendered an unreserved apology to the senate on behalf of the labour ministry.
He tendered the apology when he led a delegation from labour ministry on a courtesy call to the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan.
The President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan in his remarks, thanked the Minister of Labour for the visit and said the visit was a home-coming for Senator Ngige.
However, the President of the Senate stressed that the joint committee of Labour was right in their demands from the minister of state in line with the oversight functions of the National Assembly.
He therefore said that every action taking before now concerning the recruitment of 774,000 workers is null and void and should start afresh.
