Abuja (Precise Post) – The Chairman Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndume has carpeted the Federal Government of Nigeria for pampering Boko Haram Members in the guise of deradicalisation and reintegration while countries like the United Arab Emirates recently convicted Boko Haram fighters.
Speaking at the Budget defense of the Nigerian Army for the 2020 Fiscal year, Ndume said he and members of his committee are on the same page on the mater as it smacks of sheer pampering of agents who have been involved in the wanton destruction of lives and properties in the North East.
He said ” In my own village elders above sixty years old about seventy five of them were taken to an abbatoir and slaughtered, but the government is saying because they are repentant you bring them out and pamper them, the recent attacks in Damboa was masterminded by a repentant Boko Haram member who gave information to fighters that led to the killing of an Army General”
” I am in disagreement with the federal government on the issue of deradicalisation and resettlement of Boko Haram fighters” ” You can’t be resettling people when the war on Boko Haram is ongoing” ” The committe is on the same page with me on the subject matter” Ndume said.
