ABUJA (PRECISE POST)   –   Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has called on Nigerians to embrace collective responsibility, resilience and sacrifice in building the country, saying Nigeria has not failed despite its challenges.

Soludo made the call in a statement posted on his official X handle on Monday, following an interdenominational thanksgiving service held at the Cathedral Church of St. Faith, Awka, to mark Nigeria’s 66th anniversary of independence.

The governor said the occasion was a reminder that nation-building requires the active participation of citizens, stressing that true freedom goes beyond the raising of national flags.

According to him, true freedom is about “a people determining their own destiny,” while noting that governments may come and go, but Nigeria remains.

Reflecting on the country’s challenges, Soludo acknowledged that the agricultural boom of the past had waned, but maintained that the development did not mean Nigeria had failed.

“Our duty is to bless this country, to speak well of her, and to brighten the corner where we are,” he said, adding that “personal integrity is national integrity.”

The governor said his administration remained committed to peace, progress and good governance in Anambra State.

He also prayed for the continued progress of Nigeria and the success of Anambra State, saying: “May Nigeria continue to rise, and may Anambra continue to win.”
