ABUJA (PRECISE POST) –   The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and African Export-Import Bank have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Africa’s energy development and industrialisation through strategic collaboration and investment.
This was disclosed on the Commission’s official X handle on Monday, following a meeting held last week at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, where the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Bashir Bayo Ojulari, hosted the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank, George Elombi.
During the meeting, NNPC Ltd. outlined its operational direction under its “Enterprise First” framework, which positions the company as a performance-driven and profitable energy partner focused on execution and growth.
Both institutions agreed on a shared agenda aimed at accelerating continental energy development and industrialisation across Africa. They also resolved to establish regular strategic engagements, with the first session expected to hold later this year.
A major highlight of the discussions was the proposed African Energy Bank, which is expected to be headquartered in Abuja. NNPC Ltd. reiterated its readiness to deepen investment in the initiative as part of efforts to strengthen financing for Africa’s energy sector.
Afreximbank, on its part, pledged continued support for NNPC Ltd.’s growth ambitions through risk-sharing arrangements, structured financing, and refinancing initiatives targeted at expanding Nigeria’s oil and gas resources.
The renewed partnership is expected to enhance financing opportunities for energy projects and further position Nigeria as a key hub in Africa’s evolving energy landscape.
