ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to merit, fairness and excellence as it formally deployed more than 1,000 young professionals into its workforce after successfully completing a one-year internship, intensive training and rigorous evaluation programme.
In a statement shared on his official X handle on Wednesday, Ojulari described the deployment as a landmark achievement for NNPC Ltd, stressing that the recruits earned their positions through demonstrated competence and dedication rather than personal connections or regional affiliations.
According to him, the newly deployed professionals came into the organisation through a transparent recruitment process and proved their worth throughout the internship by consistently delivering under real workplace conditions.
“Different paths, but the same door. And we opened it. That’s what NNPC Ltd stands for today: not who you know or where you’re from, but what you can do,” he stated.
Ojulari noted that while offer letters gave the young professionals the opportunity to join the company, it was their performance, resilience and commitment over the past year that secured their permanent placement.
He said the development reflects the new standards the national oil company is promoting, anchored on talent, hard work and equal opportunity.
Addressing the new employees, the NNPC boss urged them to see themselves not merely as the future of the organisation but as an integral part of its present transformation.
“You are not just our future. You are our present. Our energy. Our proof,” he said, encouraging them to contribute ideas, express their opinions freely, challenge existing practices where necessary and take ownership of their professional growth.
Ojulari also advised the young professionals to remain mindful of the journey that brought them into the organisation, urging them to remember the patience, discipline and perseverance that defined the recruitment process.
He expressed confidence that many of them would eventually rise to leadership positions and challenged them to uphold the culture of merit by creating opportunities for future generations of talented Nigerians.
The deployment of the over 1,000 professionals marks one of the largest recent workforce integration exercises by NNPC Ltd and underscores the company’s renewed focus on developing indigenous talent as part of its drive to build a more competitive and performance-driven energy company.
