ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has reaffirmed his commitment to working with the party’s candidates across the country to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.
Obi stated this in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday after hosting the NDC’s vice presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, alongside gubernatorial, senatorial and other candidates of the party from various states at the Obidient Headquarters in Abuja.
According to him, the meeting focused on strategies to expand and deepen the reach of the party and take its message of “national redemption” to rural communities and other hinterlands across the country.
The former Anambra State governor said he reassured the candidates of his continued support in their respective states and constituencies, while pledging to work closely with them and undertake the necessary groundwork for the party’s electoral success.
Obi described his partnership with Kwankwaso as a strategic effort aimed at rescuing Nigeria from what he described as “calamitous and ineffective leadership” responsible for the country’s current challenges.
He said the NDC’s agenda would prioritise poverty reduction, reduction in the number of out-of-school children, support for small and medium-sized businesses, improved national security and greater unity among Nigerians.
He added that the party would seek to transform Nigeria from a consumption-driven economy into a production-based economy.
“My partnership with His Excellency Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is a partnership to rescue Nigeria from the calamitous and ineffective leadership that has brought our country to its present condition,” Obi said.
He expressed optimism about the party’s political project, declaring: “A New Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK.”
