Akure (Precise Post) – The Peoples Democratic Party’s Governorship candidate in the October10 gubernatorial election in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede has reiterated committed to a peaceful election.

According to the statement released via his twitter handle account @TayoJegedeSAN, he made the call at the signing of the Peace Accord on Tuesday.

Eyitayo therefore implored the security agencies, especially the police, to ensure that they comply with the rules and urge them to comply with all the provisions of the law including arresting those who get involved in any cases of violence.

The tweets read:

“At the signing of the peace accord, this afternoon, I stated that I’m absolutely committed to a peaceful election: before the election, that’s during campaigns; during the election when votes are cast & after the election when the results have been announced. #OndoDeservesBetter

“I maintain my firm belief that fairness should be the principle applied by all including INEC; whose responsibility starts from the time of compiling the voters register, up to the time of announcing the result of the election. #OndoDeservesBetter

“I again implore our security agencies, especially the police, to ensure that they comply with the rules and urge them to comply with all the provisions of the law including arresting those who get involved in any cases of violence. #OndoDeservesBetter
