OSOGBO – Party agents and supporters at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Results Collation Centre are eagerly awaiting the final announcement of the results of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun.
Although the atmosphere at the collation centre remains calm, there is a palpable tension among the party agents and supporters allowed into the centre for the final announcement of the result.
Some party supporters were also seen outside the collation centre, albeit at a distance, waiting for the announcement.
As of the time of filing this report, results from all 30 local government areas (LGAs) had been counted, with the final announcement of the results being awaited.
From the results so far announced, Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Accord won 19 of the 30 LGAs, while his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of All Progressives Congress (APC), won 11 LGAs.
Adeleke is awaiting the official declaration by INEC, following the conclusion of the collation and announcement of results on Sunday.(NAN)
