ABUJA – The Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the February 25, 2024 general election, Peter Obi has congratulated the brand new Prime Minister of Britain, Keir Starmer as well as the UK Labour Party over their electoral victory in Thursday’s election.
Obi stated this on friday in reaction to the outcome of the general election and smooth transition of power from the Conservatives Party to the Labour Party in United Kingdom.
He expressed optimism that the victory will translate to a better and new chapter for all the UK residents as Starmer remains committed to his electoral promises.
The former Anambra state governor further expressed hope that Starmer’s government will promote stronger ties between the UK and Nigeria, and help in deepening our own democracy, especially during the challenging times that our nation is going through.
Peter Obi who reminded that Nigeria is grappling with issues such as insecurity, education, healthcare, and poverty, and could greatly benefit from the support of the UK called for collaboration to build a brighter future commonwealth for all.
Wishing Keir Starmer a successful tenure on his X account, Obi said:
