Group under the auspices of Peter Obi Grassroot Mobilisation Movement has described those criticizing Peter Obi’s good will of providing portable water supply to the people as heartless, hypocrites, unpatriotic, and selfish.
Precise Post recalls that on the 24th March, 2024, Peter Obi, as part of his nationwide tour coinciding with the sacred months of Ramadan for Muslims and Lent for Christians, visited the Forestry/Crop Science Nursery at the esteemed Faculty of Agriculture within the Usmanu Danfodiyo University-Main Campus in Sokoto. Recognizing the critical need for water access in the area, he passionately led the initiative to install a borehole for the faculty, aiming to address and uplift this pressing concern.
By way of expressing appreciation for this gesture, Professor Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, a respected figure within the faculty, extended heartfelt appreciation, acknowledging this endeavor as the first non-governmental project directly benefiting the facility.
However, rather than queue behind the erudite Don, critics have been trying to twist the fact by looking for ways to discredit the efforts of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25, 2023 general election Peter Obi.
The group in its reaction via official X account said:
“Northern Elites and Politicians without integrity failed to provide basic amenities to their rural communities. A charitable mind and a distinguished Nigerian
HE, Peter Obi intervened to ameliorate humanitarian crises and sufferings, especially in the areas of water to the people history will be kind to Obi.”

Senators their governor and rich Elites abandoned them for years while the people drink from animal urine.
Those criticizing Peter Obi’s good will of providing water to the people are heartless, hypocrites, unpatriotic, and selfish.”
Precise Post recalls that Bashir Ahmad had while reacting to the gesture from Obi via his X account said:
“Wow. This looks very presidential. Thank you, His Excellency Peter Obi. Your vice president, Dr. Datti Baba-Ahmed, who is from Zaria and the whole community must appreciate your gesture. My only curiosity here is about the source of the water.”
Bashir Ahmaad said : “This is the borehole that will feed water to the tank 🙏🏾! If political leaders do even the bare minimum for their communities, private individuals won’t need to do this. Imagine a community not having water for years , they have to trek miles to get water despite the huge allocations these evil politicians get monthly!
Similarly, the Northern Comrades Movement Of Nigeria (NCMN), had in a press statement released via its official X account, commended Peter Obi for his unwavering support over youth, women empowerment and borehole project across the northern communities.
The statement responding to the unjust condemnation from some critics reads in full:
NCMN: The Unwavering Support of Mr. Peter Obi over Youth, Women Empowerment and Borehole Projects across the Northern Communities; A Response to Unjust Condemnations.
1. The leadership of Northern Comrades Movement of Nigeria (NCMN) under the auspices of Mal. Jabir Ibrahim Yaro applaud the visionary effort of Mr. Peter Obi for his remarkable initiatives benefitted by over one million (1,000,000) Youth and Women empowerment as well as borehole projects implemented across the Northern region. ⁷The commendable efforts underscore his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of citizens and fostering sustainable development in every corner of the region.
2. The provision of boreholes in some vulnerable communities represent a crucial steps towards addressing the pressing challenges of water scarcity in the Northern region. Access to clean and safe drinking water and the establishment of boreholes ensures essential resources, thereby improving health outcomes and enhancing overall quality of lives.
4. In honour of the aforementioned fact, it’s regrettable that certains groups have politicize and undermine these significant developmental strides being undertaken in the North by Mr. Peter Obi. Rather than acknowledging the imperative need for infrastructure development, economic empowerment and social upliftment in these areas as they have resorted to baseless criticisms and obstructionist tactics.
5. Contrary to the misleading narratives propagated by these groups, the projects superheated by Mr. Peter Obi are aimed at adding longstanding disparities, fostering inclusivity and promoting overall progress.
6. Eventually, we commend the foresight and dedication in prioritizing the welfare of Northerners as we stand resolute in support of his effort to uplift the Northern region and condemn any attempt to derail these critical initiatives.
