ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –  President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the dividends of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda will be felt across every state and community in the country, declaring that reform must translate into tangible improvements in citizens’ daily lives.
The President gave the assurance on Tuesday in Abuja while delivering his closing remarks at the second edition of the National Economic Council (NEC) Conference, held at the State House Conference Hall, the statement released on the X handle of Stanley Nkwocha Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media & Communications (Office of The Vice President said.

The two-day conference, themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable National Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan,” brought together state governors, federal officials, development partners and private sector stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for accelerating economic growth and strengthening national development.
Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, President Tinubu charged members of the Council to recommit themselves to the full implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that reform is “not an event but a process” that requires courage, patience and consistency.
“The decisions we make here must translate into visible improvements in the daily lives of all Nigerians — in jobs created, businesses supported, roads constructed, schools strengthened, healthcare improved, and opportunities expanded,” the President said.
He emphasised that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not a slogan but a national commitment, urging leaders at all levels to move “beyond dialogue to delivery.”
“Our administration remains resolute. We will continue to support sub-national governments, deepen institutional reforms, and ensure that the dividends of our policies are felt across every state and every community in this country,” he stated.
President Tinubu reaffirmed that his administration is united in purpose and responsibility, pledging to build “a more resilient economy, a more inclusive society, and a stronger federation.”
He commended Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chairman of NEC, for his steady leadership and for guiding deliberations with clarity and focus. He also thanked governors, ministers, development partners and private sector stakeholders for what he described as their frank contributions and commitment to national progress.
The President noted that discussions at the conference reinforced the importance of collaboration between federal and state governments, as well as between the public and private sectors, as a pathway to sustainable prosperity.
According to him, NEC members reaffirmed their commitment to fiscal responsibility, economic diversification, infrastructure expansion, food security, social protection and human capital development, adding that strengthened coordination and accountability mechanisms are already translating into improved socio-economic outcomes.
Earlier in a communiqué issued at the end of the conference, NEC adopted key policy recommendations, including a call for states to align with the national security framework under the Renewed Hope Agenda and adopt non-kinetic approaches to tackling insecurity by addressing unemployment and poverty.
The Council urged all tiers of government to strengthen cooperative federalism, shift from haphazard growth financing to catalytic investments, and ensure that macroeconomic reforms deliver real impact for citizens, as part of efforts to drive Nigeria towards a one-trillion-dollar economy.
NEC also called on governments at all levels to prioritise bankable, growth-generating projects in strategic sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, energy, transport and logistics, and digital infrastructure.
On energy security, the Council urged the Federal Government to ensure optimal investment in the oil and gas sector while diversifying into domestic refining and non-oil sectors to reduce import dependence, strengthen value chains and create jobs.
It further encouraged states to enact the harmonised tax law to address multiple taxation and complement ongoing tax reforms, commending the 12 states that have already passed the legislation and urging others to accelerate the process.
The conference featured seven panel sessions and nine lead presentations by experts on key areas including fiscal governance, interstate collaboration, security, domestic production, human capital development and partnership frameworks for economic growth.
With far-reaching recommendations for federal, state and local governments, the NEC Conference underscored a collective resolve to align policies and execution strategies with the administration’s long-term vision under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
