Asaba (Precise Post) – A FINAL-year student of University of Benin simply identified as Ayo has drowned in a stream in Ughelli, Ughelli North L.ocal Government Area of Delta State.
Ayo drowned at a dredging site where he and his friends reportedly went swimming in Oteri-Ughelli community.
A source said Ayo told his parents that he was in school.
“Ayo called his called father to send him airtime and the father sent him N500 card. Before he died, he also called his father to send him pocket money,” the source said.
The father of the deceased said,” I was at work when I was called to come home that my dog had bitten someone only to be told that my son whom I thought was in school drowned in a nearby stream.
Police spokesman Onome Onowakpoyeya confirmed the incident.(Nation).
