ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, GCON, has strongly condemned the recent killings in Plateau State, describing the attacks as “barbaric” and calling for immediate and decisive action from security agencies.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker reacted to reports that at least 50 people were brutally murdered in Zikke and Kimakpa communities of Kwall District in Bassa Local Government Area of the state.
Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic incident, Speaker Abbas declared that the killing of innocent Nigerians must stop. “I am indeed saddened by the latest killings in some communities in Plateau State. It is unfortunate that innocent Nigerians get killed in a most barbaric and brutal manner. Enough of the killings on the Plateau and other parts of the country,” he said.
He further urged security agencies to step up their efforts, in line with the directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to identify and apprehend those responsible for the recurring violence in Plateau and elsewhere.
The Speaker extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the people and government of Plateau State.
