LAGOS- The Overseas Friends of Bharatiya Janata Party (OFBJP) Nigeria on Tuesday celebrated the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recent regional elections held in three crucial states of India. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that India’s right-wing ruling party scored a resounding victory in regional elections, wresting control of key states in a major boost to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is set to bid for a third term in national elections in May 2024. In the elections concluded on Sunday, BJP won Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh states from the opposition Indian National Congress Party and registered a record fifth term in central Madhya Pradesh. BJP President, Jagat Prakash Nadda, in a statement on Tuesday said this was a significant achievement for Prime Minister Modi and setting the stage for the upcoming national elections.
