TALLIN- Estonian President Alar Karis has praised Poland’s defence efforts and called for greater investment and political will to boost Europe’s defence capabilities,
He said this during a meeting with visiting Polish President Andrzej Duda.
Duda is in Estonia for a three-day state visit, highlighting strong ties between the two nations and their cooperation in defence, security, economy, transport, and education.
Both leaders stressed the urgent need to strengthen Europe’s defence industry.
Duda emphasised that Europe must be prepared to produce its own ammunition and until then, be allowed to use European Union (EU) funds to purchase equipment from outside the bloc.
“Making changes to these regulations based on our needs at the first opportunity is of the utmost importance today,” Duda said. (Xinhua/NAN)
