ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has underscored the importance of sustained engagement with research and policy institutions as a critical tool for understanding evolving security and geopolitical dynamics across Africa and beyond.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Annual Conference of Ambassadors, Tuggar revealed that he held high-level discussions with Miguel Ángel Ballesteros Martín, a Spanish Brigadier General and former Director of Spain’s CESEDEN under the Instituto Español de Estudios Estratégicos (IEEE).
Disclosing this on his X account @YusufTuggar on Friday, Tuggar said the talks focused on rapidly shifting security realities in the Sahel and Europe, Nigeria’s ongoing counter-terrorism efforts, and the country’s strategic positioning in an increasingly multipolar global order.
Precise Post recalls that both sides also explored opportunities to deepen collaboration between Spanish and Nigerian think tanks, stressing that sustained policy dialogue, joint research, and shared strategic analysis are essential to addressing complex global security challenges.
Tuggar noted that strengthening these institutional linkages would enhance mutual understanding and help inform smarter, forward-looking policy responses in a volatile international environment.
