ABUJA FCT. – President Bola Tinubu’s administration is set to revolutionize Nigeria’s research and innovation landscape through the establishment of the National Research and Innovation Council (NRIC) and the National Research Fund (NRF).
The Honourable Minister of Innovation Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, represented the President at a high-level policy dialogue and stakeholders’ engagement, where the vision for these initiatives was shared.
These initiatives will transform Nigeria’s research landscape, driving growth and development for generations to come. The NRIC will set national research priorities, streamline science, technology, and innovation activities, and ensure collaborative efforts that support Nigeria’s socio-economic needs. Meanwhile, the NRF will provide sustainable funding for innovation in priority areas, ensuring transformative research receives the necessary support.
With these initiatives, Nigeria is poised to become a leader in innovation and research, and Chief Uche Nnaji’s representation of the President marks a significant step forward in achieving this vision.
