Gospel singer, Victory Gbakara, on Sunday night, emerged winner of Nigerian Idol Season 8. He defeated Precious Mac to clinch the N100 million grand prize, part of which is N35 million in cash and a brand new car. The prize also includes a music record deal and a video shoot. Speaking shortly after emerging victorious, Victory thanked his fans for their support, stressing that they made his victory possible. He said, “I don’t know what to say. But I want to say thank you. PDP’s Peter Mbah Declared Winner Of Enugu Guber Election

Enugu – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Mbah as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in Enugu State. According to the results announced by the Returning Officer, Prof Maduebibisi Ofo-Iwe, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Mbah polled 160,895 votes to defeat his closest rival, Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party (LP) who scored 157,552 while Uche Nnaji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 14,575 votes. As it stands, the results of 26 of the 28 governorship elections have been announced. APC won in 15 states, PDP in nine, LP in one while the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) won Kano. The elections in Kebbi and Adamawa were declared inconclusive.

By Chris Udochukwu Abuja (Precise Post) – The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and former governor of the Central Bank, Chukwuma Soludo, has scored 112,229 votes to win Anambra governorship election. He has been declared winner of the Anambra governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission. The Returning Officer of the Anambra governorship election, Prof Florence Obi, announced the result earlier this morning at the Anambra INEC office in Awka. Soludo won with 112,229 votes, beating Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 53,807 votes, and Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress who got 43,285 votes. Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party polled 21,261 votes to come fourth. LG poll: Adesina wins Ikorodu LG chairmanship election

Ikorodu – The returning officer, Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission(LASIEC), Mr Olumide Metilelu, on Saturday declared All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of chairmanship election in Ikorodu Local Government (LG). According to Metilelu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Mr Hassan Rafiu, had a total of 1497 votes, while Mr Wasiu Adesina of APC had 4729 votes. A man who alleged to be a pastor of the Winners Chapel has alleged that he was also dismissed by the church over a low-income generation from his branch in Lagos. InChristed Michael, who was Abubakar Zubair Michael before he became a pastor, claims he was the pastor of a Winners Chapel branch in Lagos. He added that he was fired alongside others and the Pastor in charge of Ikorodu, Lagos, who gave them the sack letter said the church is running at a loss to cater to their needs, whereas what they are remitting as income from their branches is “not good enough”. Agency Reporter Abuja – All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Anambra State, Andy Uba, has defeated 13 other aspirants to emerge the party’s governorship candidate in the next November 6 elections. The chairman of the APC primary election panel and Ogun Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, announced the outcome of the poll at Golden Tulip Hotel, Agulu Lake, early on Sunday.
