ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Nkanu Nnamdi, the son of renowned Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, describing the loss as devastating and heartbreaking.
In a condolence message issued on Thursday which he personally signed , the President extended his sympathies to Ms Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family, noting that the pain of losing a child is one of the most profound forms of grief any parent can endure.
“As a parent who has also experienced the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child,” Tinubu said, adding that he shares in the family’s sorrow at this difficult time.
The President praised Adichie as a global literary icon whose works have brought joy, inspiration and enlightenment to countless homes around the world, stressing that her contributions to literature and humanity remain deeply cherished.
He prayed for divine comfort and strength for the bereaved family, urging them to find solace in God during the trying period.
“My prayers are with the family,” Tinubu concluded.
