ABUJA – The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says all the 330 Kilo Volt (KV) transmission lines connected to Jos are in service and transmitting bulk power.
The management of the company made this known in a statement in Abuja on Thursday.
The company was reacting to a statement by the Kaduna Electric, alleging transmission constraints affecting power supply to Jos and its environs.
The company said that TCN recorded a lone incident on Aug. 23, when the Jos – Lafia 330kV Line 2 circuit breaker was opened for voltage control.
”This was a routine operational action to maintain grid stability. The line was successfully restored and back in service at 11:59 a.m on Aug.24.
”There has been no outage or disruption of bulk electricity transmission on any 330kV line supplying Jos attributable to TCN since that restoration,” it said.
The management said that TCN remained committed to transparency and efficient transmission of bulk electricity to distribution companies nationwide.
It also urged Kaduna Electric and other stakeholders to verify facts with TCN before issuing statements that can misinform the public and create unnecessary anxiety.
”We appeal to electricity customers in Jos and environs to disregard the misleading information.
”The TCN will continue to work with all Distribution Companies to ensure stable and reliable power delivery,” it said.(NAN)
