ABUJA – The Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, has resigned after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Saturday.
Feilding question from newsmen after his resignation, the NIA Boss gave reasons for his resignation.
Precise Post recalls that Abubakar was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018.
He hinted that President Tinubu accepted his resignation after a routine briefing at the presidential villa.
Abubakar, cited personal reasons for his resignation but emphasized his continued commitment to Nigeria’s security.
He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and for the confidence placed in him. Adding that he has mentored young professional that can take over the job and capable of doing the job convincingly.
