Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has reacted after he was called out over the ongoing depreciation of the naira against the dollar.
It all started after a troll on the X platform claimed that Basketmouth was part of the problem in Nigeria.
He stated that rather than come out to vote on Elections Day, the comedian had been busy doing a show on the day.
The tweep wrote:
“Did Basketmouth vote for good governance on election day? Basketmouth had a show slated for 25th Feb 2023. He is part of Nigeria’s problem.”
In reaction, Basketmouth admitted to being the reason behind the country’s numerous problems and added that he’s the reason the dollar is exchanged at 1,700 naira.
He wrote:
“Oh yes!!! I guess I am the problem!!
I’m the reason the $ is now N1,700 and counting.
I’m the one that keeps collapsing the power grid.
I’m the reason the refineries don’t work.
I’m the snake that swallowed $100,000.
I guess i am the one.”
