ABUJA – President Bola Tinubu has named the Arterial Road N20 from Northern Parkway to Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX) as Professor Wole Soyinka Highway as recommended by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

According to the presidency, in naming the road after the distinguished playwright, poet and novelist who clocks 90 on 13 July, President Tinubu said Soyinka was the first African to win the Nobel Literature Prize.

He said Soyinka has brought honour and fame to Nigeria.

Reacting to the statement released by Bayo Onanuga via his X account, A little kindness @addel_cares said, “No wonder he (Soyinka) hasn’t made any comment on his (Tinubu’s) failed administration after one year. A country where the unqualified lead and controls the most qualified 🤔.

Precise Post recalls that Prof Wole Soyinka had shortly after he visited Tinubu at his Burdillon resident in Lagos towards the tail end of last year said he will not score the president’s performance until after his one year in office as has been his style.
