Yar’Adua’s Chief Economic Adviser Tanimu Yakubu succeeds Akabueze as DG Budget Office

ABUJA – President Bola Tinubu has appointed Chief Economic Adviser to late President Umaru Yar’Adua from 2007 to 2010, Mr. Tanimu Yakubu Kurfi as the Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, following the expiration of the tenure of Mr. Ben Akabueze.
 
Yakubu was Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria from 2003 to 2007, and Commissioner of Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning in Katsina State from 1999 to 2003.
 
He holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Wagner College, Staten Island, New York, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the same institution.

Before his new appointment, Yakubu was serving as Board Chairman for Katsina State Development Management Board (KTDMB).

Yakubu who served in Tinubu-Shettima campaign was born 30 April 1961.
