ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –   Former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday called for unity and discipline within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party officially flagged off its governorship campaign in Ado Ekiti.

Fayemi made the remarks on his X account while addressing party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters at the campaign launch in support of incumbent Governor, Biodun Oyebanji.

He described the large turnout and broad coalition of party members as a strong indication of the APC’s enduring structure and shared commitment to progress in the state.

According to him, the show of solidarity at the event underscored the strength of the foundation laid over the years and reaffirmed unity as the party’s greatest asset heading into the election season.

The former governor commended Oyebanji’s performance in office, noting that the governor had lived up to the confidence reposed in him by the party and the people. He highlighted Oyebanji’s leadership style, inclusive governance, and development-driven agenda as key factors that have helped consolidate the achievements of previous administrations.

Fayemi also expressed satisfaction that the core values of cohesion, continuity, and service remain central to the current administration, stressing that these principles are critical to sustaining development in Ekiti State.

However, he cautioned party members against complacency, emphasizing that the APC’s strength has always been rooted in discipline, mutual respect, and adherence to collective ideals. He urged stakeholders to safeguard the party’s internal structures and ensure they remain robust ahead of the polls.

Looking ahead, Fayemi charged party faithful to intensify grassroots engagement and maintain unity, noting that the forthcoming election is not just about electoral victory but about sustaining purposeful governance for the benefit of the people of Ekiti State.
