Tinubu Urged to Sack Wike Immediately — “Non-Negotiable,” Says Atiku Movement

by Joy: News Admin

Abuja, FCT – The Atiku Movement (TAM) has issued a strong call for the immediate dismissal of Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), accusing him of arrogance, abuse of office, and false credit-taking over government-funded projects.

In a fiery statement released on Saturday, October 4, and obtained by TAM condemned what it described as Wike’s “outrageous and delusional” remarks, insisting that his continued presence in Tinubu’s cabinet is “a disgrace to democracy.”

“This is a slap in the face to every Nigerian taxpayer whose hard-earned money built those infrastructures, not the bloated ego of a political turncoat,” the group declared.

TAM accused the former Rivers State governor of boasting about roads and water projects “as if they were funded from his personal account,” while neglecting critical issues of governance and security in the FCT.

“Wike’s reckless rhetoric proves he sees public office as a personal empire, not a service to the people,” the statement continued. “President Tinubu must act now — his removal is non-negotiable. Nigerians deserve leaders, not leeches who feed on public resources.”

The group warned that failure to sack Wike could provoke a “united backlash from the Nigerian populace” ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Activist Joins the Call for Wike’s Sack

Social media activist Yemi Adebowale has also petitioned President Bola Tinubu, demanding Wike’s immediate removal amid new corruption allegations.

In August 2025, documents reportedly obtained from U.S. public records linked Wike to the purchase of a $2 million mansion in Florida, allegedly registered in the names of his wife, Justice Eberechi Wike, and their children — Joaquin, Jazmyne, and Jordan.

The property, located at 113 Spring Creek Lane, Winter Springs, Florida, was said to have been quietly acquired in March 2025, with Wike’s name deliberately excluded from the official paperwork.

According to the report, the transaction was designed to evade asset disclosure laws and scrutiny over the source of funds. The mansion sits on a 4,076-square-foot lot and features a two-car garage.

With a minister’s annual salary pegged at N7.8 million (about $5,000), the purchase has raised serious questions about potential undeclared income and offshore assets.

Adebowale argued that the deal may violate Nigeria’s Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, which prohibits using illicitly acquired public funds for foreign property investments.

Wike Responds

In a recent Channels Television interview, Wike dismissed the allegations, saying his wife and children are U.S. citizens.

“If they gave them a house in America, what is my business?” he said.

However, critics insist his response fails to address the issue of transparency and accountability expected from a senior public official.

The Pressure Mounts

TAM and other civic groups have vowed to sustain public pressure until President Tinubu acts.

“Wike’s tenure has become a symbol of impunity and misplaced priorities,” TAM said. “Tinubu must prove that no one is above accountability — not even his allies.”

As the controversy deepens, the FCT minister faces mounting scrutiny both at home and abroad over alleged corruption, political opportunism, and misuse of public trust.
