Fire Guts Section of Lagos Airport Terminal 2 as FAAN Launches Emergency Response

ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –  The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed a fire incident at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, assuring the public that emergency responders are on the ground working to contain the situation.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Sunday, FAAN disclosed that its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) had been immediately deployed to the scene and was actively battling the fire to prevent its spread.
According to the authority, there have been no reported casualties or loss of life since the outbreak of the fire.
“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) wishes to inform the public that a fire incident has occurred at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
“The FAAN Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) is currently responding to the incident and working diligently to contain the situation.
“There have been no reported casualties or loss of life,” the statement read.
FAAN assured passengers, airport users and members of the public that it is closely monitoring the situation and will provide additional information as investigations and emergency response efforts progress.
The authority urged the public to remain calm and rely on official communication channels for verified updates on the incident.
