ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Executive Vice President, Downstream, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Dr. Mumuni Dagazau, has co-chaired a high-level technical session on human capital development and talent management at the ongoing 2026 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC).
Dagazau co-chaired the Downstream Technical Session, titled “Developing Future-Ready Talent for an Evolving Downstream Industry,” on Monday, alongside Mr. Ayman Ismaeil, Vice President, Government and Institutional Relations, Middle East and Africa, Hitachi Energy.
His participation followed his appointment to the ADIPEC Downstream Technical Committee in May 2026.
The session brought together industry experts to examine critical issues shaping the future of the downstream petroleum sector, including building sustainable safety capabilities, preparing organisational leaders for crises, and leveraging mentorship to ensure effective talent development and succession.
Speaking at the session, Dagazau stressed that the ability of companies to navigate crises and effectively measure the impact of their workforce development programmes would increasingly determine their competitiveness as the downstream industry undergoes transformation.
He noted that greater emphasis should be placed on assessing the actual capabilities created through human capital development initiatives rather than merely measuring the volume of training and other development activities undertaken.
NNPCL disclosed this in a statement published on its official X handle on Monday.
The national oil company is participating in ADIPEC 2026, which runs from November 2 to 5, bringing together energy industry stakeholders from more than 170 countries.
NNPCL is showcasing its activities and engaging industry stakeholders at Stand A400 at the exhibition.
