ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has emerged stronger and more united following days of strategic consultations among party leaders and stakeholders.
Kalu said the high-level deliberations focused on reviewing party structures and charting a “clear, coordinated path forward,” yielding tangible outcomes aimed at boosting cohesion and electoral success in the state.
Disclosing this on his X handle @OfficialBenKalu on Sunday, he commended the party’s national leadership for its role in stabilising and strengthening the APC, singling out the National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, for his commitment to unity and growth across the country. He also praised the National Secretary, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, and the National Vice Chairman (South East), Ijeomah Arodiogbu, alongside members of the National Working Committee for their efforts in advancing the party’s agenda.
The Deputy Speaker further acknowledged key APC figures in Abia who participated in the engagements, including Senator Orji Uzor Kalu; the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiru Onyejeocha; and the party’s National Welfare Secretary, Chief Donatus Nwankpa.
Other notable stakeholders at the talks included former Senators Chris Adighije, Bob Nwanunu, Emma Nwaka, and Nkechi Nwaogu; former minister Henry Ikoh; former House of Representatives member Emeka Atuma; and Chairman of the South East Development Commission, Emeka Wogu, among others.
Kalu stressed that the party remains committed to eliminating internal rancour and building a united front anchored on discipline, inclusion, and shared purpose.
“The focus now is growth and sustained progress for our party and for the people we are privileged to serve,” he said, adding that unity would be critical to achieving the APC’s goals in Abia State.
He expressed optimism that the renewed sense of cooperation within the party would translate into stronger performance in future political contests.
