ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Acting Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, MFR, mni, has lauded the longstanding collaboration between NCoS and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), particularly in safeguarding custodial facilities across the nation. Nwakuche emphasized that the ongoing partnership has significantly boosted morale and should be sustained and further developed.
During a recent courtesy visit to the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja, Nwakuche commended the leadership of the NSCDC under Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, OFR, mni, for its notable achievements and its strong working relationship with NCoS and other security agencies. He acknowledged that this collaboration has played a crucial role in the security of the nation’s custodial centers.

Nwakuche, who assumed office as Acting CG of NCoS following his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on December 15, 2024, explained that the visit was part of his initial engagements with various security and correctional institutions, including Zonal Coordinators and State Controllers.
Praising Dr. Audi’s leadership, Nwakuche highlighted the professionalism, strategic planning, and execution that has raised the NSCDC to new heights. He expressed confidence that such qualities would continue to foster a positive and productive working relationship between both agencies.

In response, NSCDC Commandant General Dr. Audi assured Nwakuche of his agency’s full support. He expressed confidence in Nwakuche’s leadership and recalled their shared experience at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS). Dr. Audi congratulated Nwakuche on his appointment and urged him to exemplify strong leadership in line with global best practices.

Dr. Audi further stated that all State Commandants of the NSCDC have been instructed to work closely with NCoS in enhancing the security of custodial facilities nationwide, reaffirming his agency’s commitment to supporting NCoS whenever necessary.
