Bala Mohammed’s Stepmother Passes Away at 120

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has announced the death of his stepmother, Hajia Hauwa Muhammadu Duguri, at the age of 120.

The centenarian, known for her community service, died on January 1, 2025.

The Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, announced her death in a statement released to journalists in Bauchi on Wednesday.

“Her passing marks the end of an era defined by selflessness, piety, and unwavering dedication to community service, which she exemplified throughout her long and impactful life,” the statement read.

The funeral prayer (Janazah) is scheduled for 4:00 pm at Dr. Rilwan Adamu Square, Government House, Bauchi.

The governor extended heartfelt condolences to the Duguri family and all who were privileged to know Hajia Hauwa Muhammadu Duguri.

He urged everyone to join him in praying for her soul’s repose and to honor her legacy.

“May Almighty Allah grant her eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and bestow strength upon her family to bear this profound loss,” the governor said.
