ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –   In a dramatic political shift, Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Allied People’s Movement (APM), declaring that he moved with his entire political structure across all levels.
The governor made the announcement on Saturday following a crucial meeting with PDP stakeholders in the state, signaling a major realignment in Bauchi’s political landscape ahead of future elections.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Mohammed described the situation within the PDP as “extraordinary,” noting that his camp had been grappling with an “unusual and complex political situation.”
Despite the challenges, he commended his supporters for their loyalty and resilience, saying their steadfast commitment had remained unwavering throughout the period of uncertainty.
The governor further revealed that he had spent the last eight days in Abuja engaging in high-level consultations aimed at resolving internal party issues.
“I sought all available avenues with diligence and good faith,” Mohammed stated, suggesting that efforts to stabilise the party ultimately proved unsuccessful, leading to his decision to exit the PDP.
His defection to the APM, alongside what he described as his full political structure, from ward to state level, is expected to significantly reshape the political dynamics in Bauchi State and beyond.
