LOKOJA – Governor Ahmed Ododo says peace and security are essential prerequisites for achieving growth and economic progress.
Ododo said this on Friday in Lokoja in his goodwill message to Muslims on the occasion of Eid El-Kabir celebrations.
The governor called on the people to pray for peace, progress, and the healing of the land.
He urged Muslims to reflect on the virtues of obedience, sacrifice, unity, and submission to the will of Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.
Ododo admonished Muslims to use the occasion to pray for the continued strength and wisdom of President Bola Tinubu and his administration.
The governor highlighted Kogi State’s development agenda, which focused on unity, peace, and shared prosperity.
He stressed that the state government remained committed to deepening security, expanding infrastructure, supporting farmers and traders, and strengthening education and healthcare systems.
The governor also mentioned new projects and investments aimed at building the Kogi State of their dreams.
Ododo further called for unity and compassion, urging Muslims to reach out to the needy and the less privileged.
“As we celebrate, let us remember the essence of this festival which represents sacrifice, obedience, compassion, and unity.
“Reach out to the needy, forgive one another, and rededicate yourselves to the values that bind us as Kogites and Nigerians.
“Above all, let us continue to pray for peace, progress, and the healing of our land,” Ododo said.
He wished Muslims a joyful and peaceful Sallah celebration, praying for God’s blessings on Kogi State and Nigeria. (NAN)
