Eid-el-Kabir: Speaker urges Muslim faithful to pray for peaceful 2027 polls

AWKA – The Speaker, Anambra Assembly, Dr Somtochukwu Udeze, has charged the Muslim faithful in the country to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray for peaceful 2027 General Elections.

Udeze gave the charge in a goodwill message to the Muslims in the state and across the country, issued in Awka by his Press Secretary, Mr Emma Madu, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

He expressed the optimism that with unity, prayers and collective commitment to nation building, “Nigeria will continue to make progress in peace, security and sustainable development”.

He encouraged the Muslim faithful to renew the act of almsgiving, particularly to the poor and other vulnerable members of society, in line with one of the fundamental principles of Islam.

The speaker called on Nigerians to remain selfless and dedicate their lives, time and resources to the service of God and humanity, irrespective of their religious inclinations.

He further urged Muslims and Christians to work in synergy to foster peaceful co-existence with other tribes and religious beliefs, in order to enthrone oness and progress.

He said that such mindset would determine the sustainability, prosperity and future of the country, in spite any differences.

Udeze also enjoined the Muslim Community in the State to continue to support Prof. Charles Soludo’s administration, in appreciation of the enabling environment provided for them to live and do their business peacefully.

He also advised the people to have  a fruitful and fun-filled Eid-el-Kabir celebration. (NAN)
