JALINGO – Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has expressed sadness over the passing of Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff who died Tuesday night in Lagos.
In a statement issued in Jalingo on Wednesday and signed by Emmanuel Bello, Special Adviser Media and Digital Communications, Agbu describe the death as a terrible and sad development.
The statement reads “Taraba state governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has described the death of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, as a terrible development and a sad one. He said the death is a personal one to him given his unique relationship with the late COAS.
“The death is unfortunate, especially now that the military expertise of General Lagbaja is needed. He described the late COAS as a dedicated worker who gave himself to the duty at hand. He said General Lagbaja died in active service. A very principled man, Dr Kefas, said Lagbaja remains a model of discipline, honesty and transparency.
“The late Lagbaja was an encyclopedia of military knowledge. He further noted that, in a very short time, General Lagbaja was able to strengthen professionalism in the operation of the military.
“Dr Kefas condoles with the immediate family of the late COAS, the military establishment and the country in general”.
