The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice John Tsoho, has given assurances that he is ready to cooperate with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) over ongoing investigations linked to his asset declaration form.
Justice Tsoho, in a statement on Monday by the Director of Information, Federal High Court of Nigeria, Dr. Catherine Oby Christopher, expressed his commitment to transparency regarding the development.
News recalls that earlier reports revealed that the CCB summoned Justice Tsoho to appear before it and respond to questions regarding his alleged undeclared bank accounts.
However, he couldn’t honour the scheduled dates.
The statement by Dr. Christopher titled: “RE: CHIEF JUDGE’S REPRESENTATION AND PROPOSED DATE FOR APPEARANCE BEFORE THE CODE OF CONDUCT BUREAU,” said Justice Tsoho remains “fully committed to cooperating with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in respect of its invitation.”
The statement, however, added that the Justice is outside the country for medical reasons but is ready to honour the CCB invitation once he returns to the country.
It added that in accordance with the CJ’s constitutional right to consult and be represented by counsel of his choice, Justice Tsoho would be accompanied by his legal representative, Kanu Godwin Agabi (SAN).
Agabi “has indicated his readiness to accompany the Chief Judge to the Bureau upon his return to Nigeria, he being presently outside the country for medical reasons,” the statement added.
Based on his current itinerary, the CCB has been informed that Justice Tsoho would be ready to honour their invitation any date within the week commencing Monday, 16 March 2026.
“For scheduling purposes, the Bureau has been informed that any date within the week commencing Monday, 16 March 2026, is convenient for the Honourable Chief Judge and his counsel,” the statement partly reads.
The Chief Judge reiterated his commitment to due process, “transparency”, and respect for the rule of law.
Recall that documents reviewed by Premium Times reportedly indicate that in the asset declaration form he submitted to the bureau on April 29, 2024, Justice Tsoho allegedly did not disclose several bank accounts, including naira and domiciliary accounts.
