The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced an extension of the grace period for the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit requirement until August 12, 2025. This decision follows extensive public feedback and ongoing evaluations of the digital application system.
In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the extension was approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM. The move aims to address public concerns, enhance accessibility, and improve transparency in the recently reactivated digital permit application process.
The NPF stated that its service review is focused on simplifying both physical and contactless application procedures. Planned upgrades include improved verification features and more efficient processing methods to reduce delays and minimize inconvenience for applicants.
The Force emphasized that the official platform for applying for or renewing the Tinted Glass Permit remains https://possap.gov.ng. Citizens are encouraged to report any cases of unauthorized charges or extortion during the application or biometric capture process via the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.
Reaffirming its commitment to citizen-focused policing and digital innovation, the NPF expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation throughout the reform efforts.
The extension provides citizens with additional time to comply with the permit requirement without the risk of enforcement actions during the grace period.
