ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Businessman and public affairs commentator, Atedo Peterside, has questioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the reported halt in the uploading of Osun State governorship election results on its Result Viewing (IReV) portal.
Peterside raised the concern in a post on his X handle on Saturday, urging the electoral commission to explain why result uploads had stopped at 87.48 per cent for several hours.
He said many Nigerians had been monitoring the electronic upload of results from polling units across the state and expressed concern that results from 471 polling units were yet to be uploaded.
“Why have your uploads stopped at 87.48% for some hours now?” Peterside asked INEC.
He noted that the commission had successfully displayed results from 3,292 polling units with “little or no alterations,” but questioned why it had been unable to upload the results from the remaining polling units.
“If you could show us 3,292 Polling Unit Results with little or no alterations, why are you unable to show us the results from the remaining 471 Polling Units?” he asked.
Precise Post recalls that apart from Peterside’s comments on the stoppage, Athens Election Observatory (AEO) also raised concerns over the pace of result uploads on the IReV portal, noting that no additional polling-unit result had been uploaded for more than two hours as of 11:09 p.m.
Peterside therefore called on INEC to provide clarity on the situation as the collation process continued, amid heightened public interest in the transparency and credibility of the Osun governorship election results.
