ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has charged 1,086 young graduates of the 2026 Abia State Leadership Academy Youth Leadership Boot Camp to become drivers of innovation and agents of transformation in the state.
Otti gave the charge on Sunday in a statement posted on his official X handle following the graduation ceremony held at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia.
The governor described the occasion as joyous, urging the graduates to return to their communities with a renewed sense of responsibility and a commitment to contributing to the development of Abia.
He told the young leaders that they were not returning home as ordinary citizens but as “bearers of solutions, drivers of innovation, and agents of transformation.”
According to him, the New Abia project is a transgenerational journey, stressing that the graduates are now active partners in shaping the future of the state.
Otti commended the President of the Abia State Leadership Academy, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, and the Director of the Enterprise Development Centre of Pan-Atlantic University, Dr. Nneka Okekaru, for their dedication and partnership in making the programme successful.
He also acknowledged the contributions of the President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, Mrs Ekeoma Ezeibe; the Nigerian Naval College of Accounts and Finance; and the management of Government College Umuahia.
The governor singled out Ms. Roseline Faridat Abdusalam, one of the outstanding participants, saying her success demonstrated the administration’s inclusive philosophy that “if you live in Abia, you are from Abia.”
Addressing the graduates directly, Otti urged them to establish mentoring clusters, share the knowledge acquired during the boot camp and take the values of excellence into their communities, schools and workplaces.
He said their choices and actions would play a significant role in determining the future of Abia, urging them to “stand firm, act with distinction” and justify the confidence placed in them.
“Congratulations once again. The journey has just begun,” the governor added.
