ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –   Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has unveiled four new “people-driven” economic models aimed at tackling unemployment, empowering women, protecting the environment, and driving sustainable development across Nigeria.
Sowore announced the proposals while criticizing what he described as the country’s “failed Black Economy,” which he accused of being built on corruption, greed, environmental destruction, and the exploitation of citizens.
According to him, the first initiative, known as the “Orange and Yellow Economy,” is designed to harness the potential of Nigeria’s entertainment, technology, sports, and creative sectors to create jobs and wealth for young people.
He said Nigeria’s youth remain among the most talented globally despite widespread unemployment and poor wages, adding that the initiative would focus on investments in music, film, fashion, digital innovation, arts, culture, and sports as key drivers of economic growth and prosperity.
Sowore also introduced the “Purple and Pink Economy,” a framework targeted at the economic empowerment of women across the country.
He noted that Nigerian women continue to sustain homes, farms, markets, and communities despite facing systemic discrimination and exclusion. According to him, the initiative would improve women’s access to finance, education, land ownership, healthcare, technology, and entrepreneurship opportunities, positioning them as major contributors to national productivity.
On environmental and maritime development, Sowore proposed the “Blue Economy,” which he said would unlock the economic potential of Nigeria’s rivers, coastlines, and aquatic resources, especially in the Niger Delta and other water-rich regions.
He explained that the model would promote transportation through waterways, fishing, agriculture, renewable energy, industrial growth, and environmental restoration, while protecting communities dependent on aquatic ecosystems for survival.
The activist further unveiled the “Green Economy,” which he described as a bold shift away from environmentally harmful practices toward renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, climate-conscious industrialization, and ecological protection.
According to Sowore, the Green Economy would not only preserve the environment but also position Nigeria as a major player in the global transition to cleaner and more sustainable economic systems.
Declaring an end to what he called the “failed Black Economy,” Sowore said the existing economic order had been characterized by corruption, insecurity, exploitation, environmental degradation, and the continuous looting of public resources.
“The future belongs to an economy that serves the people, protects the planet, and guarantees prosperity with dignity for all Nigerians,” he stated.
