ABUJA FCT – Human rights activist and federal lawmaker that represented Kaduna central senatorial district at the 8th National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has advised protesters to suspend their protests and raise a team to dialogue with the Government at the Federal and state levels.

Shehu Sani’s advise is coming after President Bola Tinubu in a nationwide broadcast on Sunday morning, enjoined protesters and the organisers to suspend any further protest and create room for dialogue, which he said, he has always acceded to at the slightest opportunity.

According to the President, “Nigeria requires all hands on deck and needs us all – regardless of age, party, tribe, religion or other divides, to work together in reshaping our destiny as a nation.

Precise Post recalls that President Tinubu further said among other things, that he was especially pained by the loss of lives in Borno, Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna and other states, the destruction of public facilities in some states, and the wanton looting of supermarkets and shops, contrary to the promise of protest organisers that the protest would be peaceful across the country. Adding that the destruction of properties sets us back as a nation, as scarce resources will be again used to restore them.

Comrade Shehu Sani who took to his X account to remind the protesters of how democracy works said:

“After the President’s speech, the Protesters should suspend their protests and raise a team to dialogue with the Government at the Federal and state levels; there they can negotiate on their demands. That is how democracy works.
