Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, the Nigerian singer, who is known professionally as Ayra Starr, has shared how her background as a child chorister impacted her music career.
The singer said she started singing at the age of 10 and was a lead singer in the children’s choir of her local church.
In a recent chat with Amazing Jazzy, Starr shared that her experience in the children’s choir helped shape her voice.
“I loved being in the choir. I was like the loudest child, it was the kids’ choir actually and everybody was little.
“It was the first time I discovered that I can I sing. It really helped me shape my voice and music,” she said.
